How to Stop Feeling Like There’s Never Enough Time

January 29, 20253 min read

Hey mama,

I’ll be honest with you—when I first started trying to take back control of my time, it wasn’t easy.

I had to completely retrain my brain to think differently about how I spent my day.

I created new routines, built better habits of thought, and let go of a lot of the unrealistic expectations I had for myself. It took some trial and error to figure out what actually worked for me—and, let’s be real, it felt like an extra chore… at first!

But here’s the thing: those small, intentional shifts were what changed everything

The effort it took to build those habits paid off in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I became calmer, more present, and finally felt like I wasn’t running on empty all the time.

And I want that for you, too.

If You’re Open to Trying Something New

One of the tools I’ve found incredibly helpful in creating more calm and control in my day is the Time Audit. It’s pretty easy, it’s insightful, and it can give you a fresh perspective on where your time is going—and how you can start reclaiming it.

Let’s break it down together.

What’s a Time Audit?

Think of a time audit as a “reality check” for your day. You’re tracking how you actually spend your time—not how you think you’re spending it.

This isn’t to make you feel guilty or judgmental. You don’t need to feel bad about scrolling IG for 20 minutes. We all do it! This is just a way to give yourself a clear picture so you can make intentional changes that free up your time for what really matters most.

How To Do a Time Audit (Even When Life Feels Chaotic)

Step 1: Track Everything for One Day
For just one day, write down everything you do and how long it takes. Yep, everything. Brushing your teeth, answering emails, running after the kids—jot it all down.

It’ll probably feel tedious, but this step is key. Use whatever works for you—a notebook, your phone, or a scrap of paper. The goal is to see where your time is going so you can take control of it.

Step 2: Look for the Patterns
Once you’ve tracked your day, review it with curiosity (not judgment). Notice where your time is slipping away or what’s eating up more minutes than you realized.

Ask yourself:

  • What’s taking up time but doesn’t align with my values?

  • What can I delegate to others or let go of completely?

  • What tasks can I group together to save time?

Step 3: Focus on What Matters Most
This is where the magic happens. Once you’ve freed up some time, think about what really matters to you. What do you want more of in your life—quiet moments for yourself, uninterrupted time with your kids, or just a little less running around?

Why It’s Worth the Effort

Mama, I know the thought of tracking your time might feel overwhelming. But when you start looking at your time differently, it can shift your whole mindset.

Instead of feeling like there’s never enough time, you’ll begin to see new opportunities. Small pockets of time you can use to breathe, recharge, or simply tackle what matters most.
