Is Your Digital Life Draining Your Energy?

January 24, 20253 min read

Hey mama,

Let’s talk about something we all experience but don’t often address: the mental load of digital clutter.

You know the feeling—endless notifications, an overflowing inbox, so many apps you cant find what you’re looking for, and a camera roll bursting with photos you’ll never even look at.

It might not SEEM like a big deal, but all that digital noise could be silently draining your energy and adding unnecessary stress to your day.

How Digital Clutter Affects Your Mental Health

Your phone, inbox, and social media feeds are tools meant to make life easier, but they can easily overwhelm you.

Here’s how:

  1. Constant Notifications = Constant Stress
Every ping, ding, and buzz is an interruption, pulling your focus away from what truly matters. Over time, these interruptions can make it harder to concentrate and increase feelings of anxiety.

  2. Mental Overload
An overflowing inbox, disorganized files, and unused apps add to your mental to-do list. Even if you’re not actively addressing them, knowing they’re there creates a sense of unfinished business that weighs on your mind.

  3. Disrupted Rest
Late-night scrolling or frequent checks for new notifications can disrupt your sleep patterns and prevent you from fully unwinding. This leaves you feeling exhausted and less equipped to handle the challenges of motherhood.

3 Simple Steps to Declutter Your Digital Life!

The good news is you don’t have to overhaul everything at once.

Small, intentional changes can make a big difference.

  1. Start with Your Notifications
Turn off non-essential notifications. For example, do you really need alerts for every email or app update? Let your phone work for you—not the other way around. If it’s not offering any type of benefit to you, mute it!

  2. Unsubscribe and Organize
Spend just 10 minutes unsubscribing from emails you no longer read. Organize your inbox into folders to separate important messages from promotional clutter.

  3. Take a “Screen-Free Hour”
Set aside at least one hour a day where you put devices away. Use this time to connect, rest, or simply be present. You’ll be amazed at how much lighter you feel!
